Vegas might be lovely during the day, but it’s luminous at night.

Bokeh New York City. You can see the outline of the Empire State Building, too.

Back in August when I was in South Florida I got the chance to visit a “chacra” or small farm to pick fresh vegetables with my grandma and aunt. It’s quite the experience to get your vegetables straight from the root rather than the vegetable aisle in the grocery store.

All of you know how much I love reflection shots. This one is of Sarah and I on one of those fabulous Double Decker buses. Honestly, I think it’s the best way to see the city. Excuse the slight blurriness (you try waving and taking a picture on a moving bus!).

The newest member to my camera family

This little cutie is the Kodak Six-20 ‘Brownie’ C produced from 1946 to 1953. My dad’s aunts in Chile had it saved and when my parents went to visit in December they brought it back for me. As a surprise they just shipped it (along with a bunch of other Chilean goodies) and I got the package today. I can’t wait to try it out since, after a bit of research, I learned it can take 120 film.

These were taken with my Canon dSLR, but how meta is that second photo? It’s a picture of the viewfinder which is inversely reflecting the first photo.

Duke, I’ve missed you

More photos taken of Duke when I went to visit my folks. It’s mostly of Duke’s most recognizable building, its Chapel.

I love the architecture at Duke. It’s so gothic. Honestly I think the main reason I ended up attending was because it reminded me of Hogwarts.

The Beatles, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Late Christmas gift that arrived yesterday from my family in Chile. I’m surprised it made it one piece!

From my snowy window

So by the time I ventured out into the snow almost all of it had melted into a big pile of slushy black ice—not exactly a winter wonderland. Perhaps tomorrow I’ll attempt to wake up earlier, hit up the NYU campus for some photos and then proceed to read read read for class. Until then, here are some more shots of the snow from my window.

The KissMas tree in Covent Garden. You kiss under the mistletoe and over 50,000 lights light up! It was so lovely.

Here’s a shot of the Tower of London, which was literally a five-minute walk from where I was staying (thanks to the lovely lindseycathryn for the recommendation). Isn’t it spooky at night?
