My birthday in North Carolina
This year I spent my 25th birthday in North Carolina visiting my folks. I’m lucky enough that my birthday falls on or around Labor Day, so I usually take advantage of the long weekend to do something. Since I didn’t really go anywhere this summer (work has been busy), I reveled in a small trip to see my parents to just relax. Plus, I love their house. It’s so spacious compared to my tiny Manhattan apartment! And they have a backyard, guys. A backyard.

Viva Chile! We have a whole row of these little houses that my grandpa made.

My lovely mom.

My dad perpetually has a glass of wine in hand, even while barbecuing.

This fish is marinating. The wine is a-flowing.

Sizzle, sizzle.

We even had some red meat. God knows my iron count is low and meat on the grill is so yummy.

Of course we had a traditional Chilean salad at the table!

And volia delicious cookies and ice cream birthday cake.

Turning 25 feels pretty much the same as turning 24, but now I can rent a car!!
